IN THIS SCHOOL:
Mrs Herbert - SENCO
The SENCO (Special Needs and Disability Coordinator) is responsible for:
Overseeing the day to day operation of the school’s SEND policy
Coordinating provision for children with SEND
Liaising with the relevant Designated Teacher where a looked after pupil has SEND
Advising on the graduated approach to providing SEND support
Advising on the deployment of the school’s delegated budget and other resources to meet pupils’ needs effectively
Liaising with parents of pupils with SEND
Liaising with early years' providers, other schools, educational psychologists, health and social care professionals, and independent or voluntary agencies.
Being a key point of contact with external agencies, especially the local authority and its support services
Liaising with potential next providers of education to ensure a pupil and their parents are informed about options and a smooth transition is planned
Working with the headteacher and school governors to ensure that the school meets its responsibilities under the Equality Act (2010) with regard to reasonable adjustments and access arrangements
Ensuring that the school keeps the records of all pupils with SEND up to date
(from the SEND Code of Practice 0-25, 2015)
To attend EDP meetings for children due to transition to Arreton during their final pre-school year
To accompany the SENCO at the children’s pre-school annual review
Oversee the quality of support and provision in place for children with SEND in the reception year
Mrs Suze Keynes – Senior Leader – Family Inclusion Officer is responsible for:
Lead for Safeguarding and Child Protection
Social Care Liaison – Child Protection, Child in Need, TAF, CAF
Advice and guidance to parents on benefits and other support including housing
SEN Policy Currently being reviewed to take account of Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2016) and the DfE Child Sexual Exploitation.

St George’s Nursery & Pre School is a privately run childcare setting located on the grounds of Arreton St George’s CE (Aided) Primary School. They run a breakfast club and after school club Monday to Friday, please contact them directly with any queries.
